Growing Confidence & Chopping Bangs

Image
If I haven't mentioned it before, you should know that I am a penny pincher. I'm not as bad as I was, but I'm still pretty bad. It was from this penny pinching that my desire to learn to cut my own bangs was born. I am totally fine to go and have a professional cut the rest of my hair of course, but my bangs often need to be cut much more often.     As you can see they had gotten quite     long the last time I cut them. So my quest began with YouTube! My technique is actually a combination of two great videos. The first is a tutorial from Bebexo on how to cut side swept bangs. The second is a video from JuliaGraf on how to cut piecey bangs. Combined, I get the exact results I want! Next I went to Ulta and picked up a pair of $11 shears and was ready to weed wack! I was slightly worried that first go that I would end with horribly mangled bangs but they actually turned out much better than I was expecting. In fact the last time I had my hair professionally cut,...

Best Affordable Dates

I've been a boring married woman for a few years now, but looking back in time to my girlfriend years I can't help but smile at the good memories I have with J. Dates are a very important part of a romantic relation ship and we went on our fair share. J prided himself on doing fun and unique things and he liked to keep the destination a secret and have me try and guess what we were doing. I really loved and appreciated his thoughtfulness in planning our dates. We didn't have a ton if money to blow (and still don't) but I couldn't cherish that time more if we had. I really wanted to share some of my favorites for dating years as well as married years. Zoo Safari This one was always a really easy and affordable way to have a great time together in the sunny summer months. The camera is always a must at the zoo and I have some of my favorite J pics taken on zoo excursions. I would really recommend the Tyler Zoo which has renovated and added a lot of exhibits and the Ft...

A Link to the Past...

Being a grown up can be a challenge. Some of us take to it better than others but I'm sure we all have something we wish we could still do. Every time we think about it makes us all warm and toasty inside. We look back and sigh... For me it's video games! I know... Such slothfulness, such irresponsibility. Useless time sucker of a diversion. For me it's not necessarily the games themselves its the time I spent with people I love so much playing them. We came across our first system late in life and what a wonder it was. My brother purchased it off of a friend along with some games for around 8 bucks. And our young lives were changed forever; for in that batch of games we found a game to end all games. The Legend of Zelda Link to the Past. To this day I can still navigate the entire game by memory. The time I spent with my siblings solving the dungeons and finding the treasure is still one if my favorite memories. Back in those days we couldn't look up the Gamefaqs,...

A Fine Hello

The first thing you should know about me is I am an odd cookie. Always have been and it seems I'm doomed to remain so. I find that I'm okay with that... The world would be a very grey place without them. Secondly, I am not going to theme this blog as of right now. Right now it's just my thoughts. Airing them out is always a good thing. Lastly, my intention is for this blog to be fun and interesting. I'm open to all kinds of constructive criticism and I want to know other people's thoughts on my thoughts. Feel free to comment but let's keep things fun and friendly.
